On Sunday 08th of May 2016 the Contract “Consultancy Service for Technical & Financial Feasibility Study for the Regional Solid Waste Management Facility in Zone One-Ha. Hdh & Sh. Atolls, Maldives” was signed by Maldives Energy and Environmental Company (MEECO) in association with I.FRANTZIS & ASSOCIATES LTD at the Ministry of Environment and Energy in Male’, Republic of Maldives.
The overall objective of the Project is to achieve an integrated and financially self-sustainable waste management system in Zone One (Upper North Province) of Maldives.
The project purpose is the preparation of a waste management plan as well as preparation of Feasibility Study, Cost-Benefit Analysis, Environmental Impact Assessment, Detailed Design for the Regional Waste Management Facility, Tender Dossiers for works and supply contracts for construction of selected waste treatment and disposal facilities and for supply of equipment for waste collection, transferring and treatment of waste according to the national and international standards and assistance during tender, evaluation and award stage.
